Thanks for the HU Mike .. I got the stencils and paint plans Barf did at the Wigram Museum paint archives .. amazing how many markings you miss from a distant on military aircraft .

I seem to have a texture mapping issue with this paint in P3Dv2. The paints that come with the model are fine and everything else works well. Odd.

EDIT: No not a texture mapping issue but a Brain fade issue. Trying to apply a Mk5 scheme to a Mk 3 model .....Doh!

The texture templates needs to be inverted, requires a paint/BMP tool to do.

Thanks Ian but all sorted. Just needed to apply the paint to the correct aircraft model.

Yes indeed, I'm a huge fan of all Rob Richardson's Vampire models but it would have been great to have Igor's version in the hangar as well.

There's a Swiss-built Vampire at the RAF Museum Cosford which is fairly near to me and you won't be surprised to hear it's seen the business end of my camera more than a few times laugh.gif

I'm still Vampire mad and probably always will be!

Vampire mad or Mother mad .. 1973 we watched the Wigram 50th RNZAF show, we were on the roof of the garage watching when the Vampires flew in overhead .. four of them in there nice tight formation .. then the cry from the ground .. you boys get done off that roof .. those planes are so loud you would loose your hearing ...... rolleyes.gif My Mother .. Mad ! blink.gif

It funny some off the comments others come out with , around the same 1970s period was the school teacher when the Vulcan was heading toward us ... "now children the reason its so quiet is so it can sneak up on the emery" ... the real classic was an airshow in OZ ... a T-28 taxis past - at Richmond they taxied really close by, one chap beside me says " Sounds like he's got a couple spark plugs out" another guy on my other shoulder ear shot away then says "Listen to that one, knows nothing about aircraft" ... that chap was in his flying gear and displayed the Neptune a few hours later, now that was Funny !
