Hi everyone,

It was brought to my attention yesterday afternoon that a guy called Daniel Chitty has uploaded a file called manx2.com Metroliner III. He is claiming he is the original author of the model and textures.

Please be aware that this is not the case. The model is in fact my Metroliner III model with plain white base textures that Mr Chitty has repackaged.

Naturally I downloaded the file to check and was stunned to find that the model is the one I uploaded to Flightsim.com on May 12 2003 HERE that received a Developers Award and has had over 22,000 downloads.

I contacted Daniel who said "yes i use i bit of your metroliner but not all of it", and "i cant remove it from avsim because i email avsim and thay said i can't remove it"

I have written to AVSIM requesting the file be deleted.

That sucks Jon! I believe a simular thing happened with one of Jimmy's files too.

I loved your metroliner btw, I used it on my first big FS trip, touring the US.

I imagine AVSIM will pull the file without demur Jon, it's their policy to do so.
But if you need bulk support you will certainly find it here

They will remove it They rejected my(yup mine!) air nz repaint of the ifdg airbus a320 because it was"in the wrong place"(full a/c as required in the aircraft section) and because my name and email address weren't on the "original" readme, EVEN though i had an ownership document saying it was made by ifdg and repainted by me. I will never upload another repaint to AVSIM(mainly because i can't repaint at the moment and they won;t be good anyway)

So he should have it removed. If not then they will lose a newsletter customer

Hahah the tosser has used copyright images from Airliners.net and Jetphotos for screenshots as well you should report that to Airliners they will want a pound of flesh

He got a developers' award.
It should go to you not him.
You did the hard work. At least he didn't make money from it.

Relax dude. The model got the award ages ago, 4 years in fact. Its that model he released.

Indeed, he must be very young or very naive.

I HATE when this happens, this is one of the things that made people like Mike Stone give it up.

On a lighter note I remember when I first got FS9 way back in 03 and was on flighsim.com looking for a good aircraft and found a Metroliner III by some random guy named Jon Murchison. I then installed the Metroliner and WOW the first real aircraft I ever had, then I found the old ARNZ site and another big WOW
