I recommend you that addon as a must have one. It is for FS9 but works in FSX, too.
Payware quality in a freeware package.
The airfile is absolutely perfect and that thing flies like a real one.
Instead of a 2D panel, you get a lot of instruments that would be used on cross country flights. The checklist is clickable - you select chcoks and pitot cover on or off etc. Looking in from the outside, the copilot/instructor is waving himself cool with a brochure or checklist - the animations are well done and a lot of attention has been paid to detail.

The copilot is waving about an IGN French VFR chart (the cover is quite distinctive!) :)
