After seeing ZK-COR displayed at Ohakea airshow last weekend, I've decided I've just got to get a Corsair for FS. I promised myself to stop spending out on new payware and enjoy what I already have, but I just can't resist... so, what is the best model to get?

I see Aeroplane Heaven sell one, although their models tend to be heavy on framerates and I remember Charl mentioning a new donationware version a while back (can't find the post), but I'm not sure what 'donationware' is exactly? If possible, I'm looking for a FS2004 aircraft with decent VC and more importantly, realistic soundset! If anyone could post some links and personal experience of any Corsairs, please reply below- thanks!

Doantionware is pretty much payware, you either pay to use a website and all the downloads are free, or you have to pay for all the features on the plane to work- I think?

I went for the MEGA AH pack , Its Brilliant , every model including the super racers that act more like a Helicopter! , the early package includes the original birdcage displayed in the 90s and the more recent type to which , ....well AWE the type you are interested in I guess . Highly recommend .

Donationware= You make a donation to the person/group to fully use their software. Sometimes it's a set amount of money, other times it's just what you think is fair. :)

Another interesting one is 'Postcardware', where the author asks you to send a postcard to his address, just so he gets palpable evidence of who's using the software and where. :)

Corsair pack from Donationware.net, you can link from the sim-outhouse site, includes F4U-1, A, C, D, Mk II(FAA), F4U-2 models, with without wingtanks, numerous liveries (USM, USN, FAA, RNZAF) and also some soloman Island airfield scenery and AI (corsair, avenger, helldiver?

Great model, great sounds, 2D and VC panel, although not as good as AH Corsair one, and most important, cheap but for good quality

Same group that did the SBD Dauntless, FDG-2

Also from Alphableuciel their excellent F4U-7, freeware from Flightsim.com

I know that John Terrell did a skin of ZK-COR as she is now for the AH Corsair, on AVSIM

I think that is this one:

If it is, don't hesitate.
The AH one will eat your frames.

Heres the AH ZK-COR Corsair - yes a bit heavy on frames - the French freeware one is just as good but I always had problems getting it airborne - the huge torque caused the plane to tip it over - any clues how to fix/get over that problem? ... rudder pedals??

It's a competition shot that never got where it was meant to go, some time ago...
I sometimes frustrate people by sounding a little vague about what happens in my flight sim.
I thought I'd offer a little explanatory note here, about why I don't know what model this is.
I know I have it, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
It's in here:

...these are just the zips of planes I have touched.
You should see my sim, the day before I decide to chuck it and re-install... :P

I'm too miserable, (and/or broke) so I have this freeware version - mark you, it's pretty old and showing wear and tear....
