After downloading a couple of AI helicopter flightplans studied the afcad and have tried to make one to fit into the woodbourne scenery. bit stuck !Have the AI helicopter but it parks in the normal AI ramp and motors on out to the end of the woodbourne runway 7 . The flight plan works perfectly cept it doesn't load up on the new heli runway I am trying for vertical lift off . Can someone help me ?
Cheers Tracy

They don't do vertical liftoff unfortunately (FSX anybody?)
Might be an idea to create an entirely new airport for 'em at the same location.

Charl took your advice
woodbourne heliport;)
have suceeded in getting short takeoff using hovercontrol zzz sea king helo. the trick is to increase the vertical speed in the airplane cfg file. just trying to tweak it bit now. send me an email and I'LL send you the file if you want to check it out.
Lawrie you are on the list. NAC is coming together added a few 737's today.

Thanks Tracy. Will look forward to both the NAC737s, and the helos at NZWB. :D

Charl, ...... Would Rick Piper's FSDS3 Model of the Mt Cook HS-748 be ok to use for AI ?? Its that specific paint job i want for a project i'm working on, and cant find an AI version of 748 in that livery anywhere.

LAwrie.

1000% NOPE - It's a lovely model but enormously detailed and would bring a respectable computer to its knees if deployed :(

Damn, i really wanted that particular livery in flight in my project. Im using Rick's FSDS2 Safe Air Argosy as an AI model, and it only causes a very negligable 1 to 2 fps drop on my system, even in busy AI situations with a lot of other AI around. Oh well, was just a thought,.......back to the drawing board. :(

Had a quick try with the visiting RAF training contingent at Woodbourne, and by gum, it works as advertised.
Sea King leaped into the air after a very short run and did helicoptering stuff around the place.
Tracy, well done!

You've started a train of thought here - there are nearly 60 Aerospatiale Squirrels in NZ, if we could get our hands on a nice AI model...
think of flying the Sounds with 20 AS350's in the mix, would add a whole new dimension.
