Ok,.......... Whitianga NZWT is up on Avsim now, so next on the list for the Coromandal Peninsula area is Pauanui Beach NZUN. Its currently under construction and about 70% complete.
Other possibles for the area are NZWV Waihi Beach, NZTH Thames, NZCX Coromandel.
In the Far North, NZDA Dargaville is almost ready to go.

Currently working on NZAP Taupo Airport. Should be out in the next week or two.
After that,..... NZTH Thames Airfield, to fit the new updated Godzone Photoreal for FS2004.

Others on the soon "to-do" list are NZTI Taieri, and NZOU Oamaru.

Hi Lawrie, loving these smaller airports (where I spend most of my virtual flying time), nice work.

I've just built something resembling the Waikato Microlight club strip, called in and took a few photos before xmas and have been using the RWY12 object placer and FS-Architect to create the BGL files. Its actually a fun strip to fly in/out of what with its row of trees at one end of the runway!!! I'd like to go on and create the other club fields in the region.

Do you have any tips for goin about releasing this thing for interested parties to test? I guess uploading to AVSIM?, how about managing ongoing updates and patches? Seeking permission from private/club fields for even publishing the thing? Helping people with installing dependency libraries etc? (the wording in your install notes is bang-on I reckon).

Look FWD to your (and others) experienced advice

Hi Dan.

There's not much in the way of the "bigger" airports in NZ left to do. Most have been well and truly covered.
I was considering doing a new Dunedin a while back, but Ian Warren is doing that, and New Plymouth also on my "to-do" list, but someone is doing a photoreal of that one, Mike is doing an up to date photreal of Hamilton (mine represents Hams about 5 years ago).
What other "bigger" ones are left......................... I am, however, considering an update of my Palmerston North Scenery, and i have actually done a bunch of updates and improvements to some of my other sceneries, that i will probably release as one pack all together, rather than several small updates.
One that HAS worked it s way UP my "to-do" list is Milford Sound. Peter's one still hasnt appeared, so i was considering a "stop-gap" scenery until his is released.
I am,... however,... open to suggestions or requests for any NZ airport or airfeild scenery.

There is not much to it really (well there wasnt when I visited a few years ago - and I suspect its still the same). Two half round hangers and a Keith Hay home which acts as a Club House. Dont have any photos unfortunatley which is a bummer. I am going to have to describe it to you.

There is one at Te Kowhai, but the one I'm talkin about is the recently opened Waikato Club on
Collins Rd, near Melville on the outskirts of Hamilton. From a look at Google Maps I've placed
it at S37°49'40 E175°15'10.

Have put some real-photos and FS9-screenshots here:

cant say I actually agree with you there Lawrie, most of the NZ large airport sceneries (freeware) are starting to look rather dated and also some of the ones being developed use freeware object libraries / placres which in my opinion (and with all due respect to the authors) cheapen it a bit, and I think that is down to not enough time to model everything.

anyway I dont have the knowledge to do flatening and all that cr@p but I can do buildings and probably textures while I wait for my painters and panel designers to catch up on BSMP projects unfortunately when I offer help no one really is interested so I will just have to lurk nmore I guese.

Ok Dan,........... now i understand you a little better.
I would agree, some of NZs airports are looking a little dated, and unfortunately most of the time i am one of those ones that uses freeware object libraries due to time constraints, and sometimes also due to lack of available pictures of certain objects and buildings etc. I also dont have GMAX, or any tools like that, i make do with the few simple tools that i have at my disposal.
Also, i only build for FS9,... i no longer have FSX in my household.......
Your offer of help is greatly appreciated, and was not dissmissed out of hand. I would certainly be open to any suggestions or ideas you may have on NZ airports and airfields,........ nothing wrong with teamwork !!
Got some ideas on NZstuff that needs doing or somthing that need re-doing,......... e-mail me at snowman@nzff.org , and lets kick some ideas around, and find out what we can do between us.
BTW,.............. "lurking" is not good,............ people get arrested for that.....

Hey Lawrie (and other talented scenery creators), when you have few minutes spare, an updated Foxpine and fielding scenery would be great. However the list can go on and on and on.... :)

Yep, we do have Deane's scenery which set the bar there. It's starting to show its age a bit now though; it [the new scenery] was just a thought... ;)

Can I just say that Wanganui although good is actually sitting in the wrong place in relation to Rivers and Roads? The airport is buildings are sort of L-Shaped in relation to the road. Someone did a revised AFCAD for it with a few stock building but I can not find that anymore the site it was hosted is gone.
