Thanks for the endorsement lads, looking forward to working with Doug, Deane and the rest of the team on the admin/moderation side of things. Also like to echo Moffata and Doug's sentiments and say a ruddy good thank you to Robin and Paul and everyone else who's been at the helm over the last couple of years. clapping.gif

Admin and moderation roles are largely thankless activities, I know from personal experience in other communities. They're stressful and frustrating at times, both on a technical and interpersonal front. However, they're also greatly satisfying when you witness real engagement, collaboration, enthusiasm and thriving communities of interest, as you do here at NZFF.

It's just my $0.02 but I think it's good policy to refresh the admin team in any organisation every now and then, and online communities are no different. NZFF has been very much a niche community in the flight sim world, which as we all know is very much a gaming niche to begin with. I think a few threads recently have hi-lighted the interest most of us have in keeping it that way, and in maintaining the NZ / Pacific focus the forum has. We will also no doubt continue to attract and maintain the awesome international membership over time. Personally I also hope to see us continue to operate in a community driven way, as we have under Robin and Paul.

Onwards and upwards !!! plane.gif

Good on you guys for stepping up to form the new Admin team.

Robin and Paul: you steered the ship well - mostly, we hardly noticed when the waters got a bit choppy.
And welcome to that most exclusive of clubs:

You'll find the view quite refreshing.

From my point of view it's great to see the names going forward to ensure continuity. I feel that the forum has been very well run over the years
that I have been lurking in the background, reading and absorbing, not contributing a lot having realized my own technical limitations. As a member
of several other forums dealing with different subjects, I have seen the dramas that follow slack policing of the posts, and have always found this a
comfortable site to visit. Thanks to those who allowed this to happen. I think there will always be gap in perception between those who treat Flight Sims
as an interesting hobby, and those who treat it as a "way of life." Onward and upward.

Good to see that things are being resolved so amicably. Welcome to the new administrators and a very big thank you to those moving over for the great work they have done over many years with probably few thanks or appreciation for both their time and their patience.

Thanks guys for the support. I have to say most of the work in the last 6 months has been Dougs and Robins as I have been too busy with other things.

Yes, it was great to catch up. Hopefully the first of many! The good news is that as of this morning, the time difference is now 12 hours and once NZ goes back next weekend it'll be down to 11. I'm always a lot more active on the communications at this time of year as a result. smile.gif
