NEW ADMINS WANTED!

Read and write about updates, changes, or any issues regarding the NZFF website and community

Postby dbcunnz » Fri Mar 29, 2013 2:46 pm

As admin I will be working with the new admin that are selected the members who have put their names forward for admin are
07moffata splitpin deeknow deaneb and Mynameisnemo and Adrian Brausch has put his name in to take a moderators roll.
deaneb has told me that he would take an Admin roll or a moderators
In the past we have been running very well with three admin and my thoughts are that it should be brought up to four I myself don't think that we need any more than four.

I would like to ask our members to post their thoughts on this and who they would like to see running the forum ASP

I myself do have two of the five who I would like to have on board with me and they are deeknow and deaneb but that is only my choice.
I will leave it up to the members to chose who they would like and how many admin they would like.

I don't know if we should put a time limit on this but I think that we should give our member at least one week to air their thoughts and post their preferences on this thread.

There are several moderators wanted and those that have already put their hand up for admin will most certainly be given a moderators job if they want it if they a not selected as an admin

Generally the admin team have shared a lot of the moderator jobs, as well. Someone might want to take a look at each sub-forum's moderators and identify those who are not active in the forum at all, and those that are.

I'd like to remain on as moderator of my own support forum, but quit the others.

EDIT: removed my comment about Mike, as it is irrelevant unless he offers to stand for the position.

When I was thinking of new admins before I made this thread two names came to mind; Dean Baunton and Dean Stringer. An ideal mix - One has an IT/web background - the other a Aeronautical/flightsimming modelling background and both have put their hands up. That's my 2 cents worth anyway

hows about seeing as you and Rob are outgoing Admins , why not do one final good deed and re-instate Ian , like I said you've made your points he does not deserve to be sidelined during this process

I've advised Doug and Paul that I am now effectively resigned from admin, but at the moment I still have admin status, and am still officially the owner of NZFF. To fix the situation where any posts I make here as a normal, average member will have the administrator tag attached, I'd ask Doug to remove my admin status as soon as. Then I can start posting as myself.
I plan to be a bit chattier without the 'ghost in the machine' restrictions I put on myself as an administrator. And I really need to get my post count up, just in case the new forum adopts Adrian's suggestion that post count earns immunity:) (Hey, a joke, see I'm more entertaining already.)

Thanks Marty. I think all the moderators should have access to all sections to moderate. So if we have team of say Marty, Adrian, Andrew and myself (and anybody else that has put their hand up) moderating with back up from the admin team of Doug and the two Dean(e)s. This will provide plenty of coverage.

Some of the moderators need to go too as they simply aren't around. 185, hardcorepawn and brown box come to mind as does Trolly for one section (although he should remain admin for historical reasons as he started this whole place)

I was going to let this run for a week to let more members have their say but from looking at the last few posts I will be adding deeknow Dean Stringer and deaneb Deane Baunton to the admin team asp and contacting them to discussion as to whether we need another one on the team.
I would like to thank all those members who put their names forward and you all are assured of a job as moderators if you want one.
We don't need any more members to put their name forward for the admin job and if we decide that we want to take it to four one of those who have already put their names forward will be picked to join the admin team.
I am please see both Rob and Paul will be staying on as moderators after we have the new admin all settled in and they both relinquish their admin roll.
