Hi guys, is there anything that can be done about posts that have massive quotes in them, or am I the only one that gets annoyed at this?
eg: say someone writes a good half page or so, then the next person quotes the whole thing and adds something like "yes, I agree" ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? unsure.gif

Thanks for bringing this up, it's definitely time to remind people to give some thought to readability. This is from the posting guidelines:

QUOTE
Use Quote carefully. There are some quite useful forum tools to quote previous posts, but these should be used sparingly. Don't just press the 'quote' button without reviewing what you are quoting ,and trimming it carefully. Remove images from quotes, as there is no reason to repeat an image in a single post. Don't leave previous quotes in your own quote -- your quotation should only point to one specific relevant point, to distinguish it from other points in the same thread. Of course if your reply adds to the entire thread, then there is no need to quote.[/quote]

Quoting the entire original post in the only reply to the thread is becoming a bit too prevalent lately:)

...which reminds me, the forum is set up to remove embedded quotes, otherwise things would be a lot worse...

On one forum I'm on you get slapped good and hard by the mods for quoting a message at all if your reply is the next message in the thread (unless you're only replying to 1 or 2 lines of a very big post).

The worst thing IMO is when somebody quotes a post containing pics. Especially if there are a lot of pics!
