Hello Forum Admins... I come in peace smile.gif

I've been away for a fair while... but would dearly love to get back into my daily routine of browsing NZFF and flightsimming in general... mainly because I'm embarking on a real world Multi IFR adventure... yay... more ASL exams rolleyes.gif

Anyway, being the proud owner of a shiny Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S) I've discovered an awesome little app (also available on iPhones, Blackberrys and Nokias!) that allows you a really sweet little interface to your favourite forums...

It's called Tapatalk... http://www.tapatalk.com/

and the best part for forum owners is that the plugin to make the forum availabe to tapatalk users is FREEEEEEEE!!! thumbup1.gif

For phone owners the free app is basically a forum viewer (still cool)... you have to pay a couple of bucks for the full version which allows posting etc...

I'm already using this on a couple of other forums I browse... and would dearly love to be able to do the same with NZFF...

Sooooo how about it?

cheers,
HCP

I've had a look at the Tapatalk website, and it looks like it would be a good idea. However at the moment we tend to shy away from technical alterations to the forum, just in case we mess something up...
So who else would use this? Maybe a poll would find out who has this type of access, and who actually uses it.

I'm aware that this is a growth area, but I'm what's known as a late-adopter when it comes to technology, so I rely on members to let us know what's available out there.

I use my iPod to access the forum, and it's messy to zoom in and scroll about without accessing a mobile version of NZFF.

+1 for me

bwhahaaha they create some very "useful" apps don't they?? hahahahahaha

my favourite one at the moment is the SIP phone that i've connected in a very convoluted manner to GoogleVoice (don't ask how I managed to convince them I live in the US ninja.gif )... and a DID provider that gives free PSTN to SIP dial in numbers...

Basically... people in US can call a US number and if I'm on a WiFi (or feel like paying for the data... oooo 2 Degrees have got new plans!! w00t) my phone rings winkyy.gif

Likewise... I can call numbers in the USA/Canada... and only play for the data (so if on WiFi... FREEEEEEEEEE!!! smile.gif

Now.... If only I could read my most favouriteist bestest most awesomest flight sim forum on my phone in a convenient manner winkyy.gif

Hi guys

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but Tapatalk sure has come a long way in the past couple of years since this post was started.

Most of the forums I check daily are using it and I sure would love to see nzff.org in my list.

Thanks in advance

Thanks Rob, worth asking again... According to http://www.tapatalk.com/activate_tapatalk.php it should be compatible with IP.Board 3.x Series.

Yes, we have v2. This will be an obvious choice when and if we upgrade.
