Thanks guys, sorry for the late reply.
I just returned last night from 10 days on Stewart Island. I was doing the hunting and fishing thing.
Flew down from Palmy with ANZ nothing special there. But then took a chopper direct to our block on the island from Invercargill with Southern Lakes Helicopters.
That was my longest flight over open water in a chopper. We had to drop down to 500 on the way back in to Invercargill yesterday. The weather was pretty rough and the seas pretty big. Makes you feel very small when looking down on the power of the ocean from that height!!
Putting a life jacket on when getting into the machine (due to flight over open water) does not do a lot if you are a nervous flyer I'm picking.
