I notice that sent private messages are not showing up in the Sent folder. Can anyone explain why this might be?

You can save sent messages if you want, just click ' Add a copy of this message to my sent items folder' before you send the message. But be aware that this will reduce your storage quota, which is pretty limited anyway.
