Hey all,

I have decided, in addition to a cleanup of some hardware I am selling my PFC Flight Console and Jet Quadrant. You see, although IRL I will not elect to move up the rungs to heavies I will remain with my PPL for reacreational use and so this leaves the console redundant in my eyes. This comes from a recent review of my simming habits versus real world goals. I will be continuing to Sim but for the purpose of strengthening my PPL knowledge and training in that I will not be high flying like I have been. Although not an approved synthetic training aid it still will enable me to carry out simulated IFR tasks and Nav excercises. This is a big shift for me because I love every facet of simming but I am more excited to increase the momentum on my real world hours. I'd like to think that this is a bit of a fundraiser to help top up my training funds as it is not the cheapest hobby under the sun.

I loved the system requirements too, amongst others:
OS: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
Processor: Pentium 2 @ 450 MHz
Memory: 128 MB
Hard Drive: 1.8 GB Free
Video Memory: 8 MB

Wow I have an ancient box I use as a home file server, bet it could run this software.
Wonder if it could handle pedals and a yoke, a console perhaps?

Darn Kelvin! I love the look of the PFC hardware and will probably upgrade my simpit with their throttle quadrant in the near future. Sadly I'm not in a position to purchase right now otherwise I would be in.

A question for you - how easy is it to interchange the throttle quadrants with one another. I suspect I'll purchase at least two quadrants - maybe even three (Single, turboprop and jet).

I suppose it's up to the sim to handle the hardware but no FPS loss at all as it's driverless just USB so plug and Play. Natural progression is a good term for it, in some cases slow progression. Just got my Medical class 2 yesterday $260

Yeah, once you go PFC you will never go back to plastic. The PFC throttle quadrants interchange like you would change your gruds! two thumb screws on either side, unless you are getting Vernier throttle then there are 4 screws to undo to detach the THQ. Anyone who tries the PFC gear will definately see the quality of workmanship that goes into their hardware.

I can vouch for the high quality of the kit on offer, having seen it first hand, it's superb.

Shame you're getting rid of it Kelvin, but as it's to finish your PPL that's a sensible decision to make I think.

Only getting rid of the console not the yoke. I found that the yoke has all I need to do what I need. I think the console was a bit of a rash purchase. Nevertheless, thanks for the comments Adrian hopefully will help with the sale.

What yoke did you get? I'm thinking of the Cirrus Beech yoke.......

Well that changes the 'boxes' - what about the cables? I assume that one just pulls the USB cable out of the box to be removed and inserts in into the new box. Does FSX recognise the new box automaticly or does one have to make adjustments to FSX setup and/or configuration screens.

Just to make life difficult I wish to have 3 contol inputs: yoke, centre stick on the floor ( for my PA18 ) & side stick for the fast fun mchines. Simmilarly one needs to cover throttles for 1, 2, 3 or 4 engine, piston, turbo prop & jet. I amagine there is room for combining some of these or if one went to the extreme one would need 12 throttle quadrants to cover the field.

Just me thinking aloud as it were - may never happen but one needs to plan and be ready in case it does happen! Is it just me? but I find planning a fun learning curve which I enjoy very much.

The throttle quadrant detaches but the USB cable is attached at the rear of the hardware not the quadrant itself. If you change throttles I would suggest calibrating again. However, it is probably only necessary to calibrate the axis/buttons that are not calibrated. If you are using different aircraft then you would most likely want to calibrate the axis/buttons as per the aircraft configuration you are using.
