In almost month from now comes the first International flight , France to Britain , 1903 was the year recond the the first real flight as we all no ... Our own Richard Pierce could also be considered .. but from a span of six years Louis Bleriot built an aircraft that today is the norm but with slightly more conventional materials .

Lucky you had some altitude to play with, those early pictures just out from the beach made it look like you were going to be making use of ground effects for added lift

I got this Bleriot from a link at the SOH forum , it was a beta model , maybe thats why i run outta petrol

THE ORIGINAL AIRCRAFT is right , the chap who own,s it had brought a house , think i recall it was Sweden in the attic was a brand new crated 1909 type . ... I think he first brought it into the airshow curcit in 2002 at Wanaka , funny to watch ,pilot sitting up directly into the airstream

From the look of the model even if the pilot was laying down completely inside the 'fuselage' he'd still be directly in the airstream.

Must have been rather chilly, even at those speeds !

Same guy bought the Klemns over at the 2008 airshow - wonder if the Bleriot will be at the 2010 air show...not sure how much is orginal..........

Good stuff Ian, i had just been reading about this famous flight across the English Channel just the other day.

'British Customs had no provision for a landing other than by ship, so Bleriot was logged in as a ship's Master and the XI as a yacht.'-Wiki a yacht.......

Realy happy that my Bleriot XI has landed in NZ !!!! and so nice screenshots by Ian !!!!

The Bleriot on the pics is a " TULIN A " , licensied version of BlériotXI made in Sweden ; that version with Gome Omega 50 HP .

about mine for FSX ..... it will be finish the 7th june for free download on my website.

Hello 'Chestnuts' Wellcome to New Zealand , with that their is another , she wont fly but was the first aircraft in the RNZAF named 'Britannia' and its only 1.5 km away from me in the Air Force World Museum at Wigram . Many are look forward to your release .. maybe a little cross channel multiplay race .

I hope we will be looking forward to other models from your hanger and design group or just stick around and enjoy the topics and add to them .
