Hi all- Just thought id post some photos of a recent flight I did as a passenger with a guy that is training for his PPL at the same club.

The flight VFR from Whakatane to Matamata to Thames to Tauranga and back to Whakatane....it was a beautiful day for flying!

I pretty much spent the whole day in the air with my flight in the morning (doing Instrument flying) then the flight depicted in the photos and then some more instrument flying (Unusual attitude recovery) in the afternoon....and to top it off a visit from an RNZAF Iroquoi

Let me know if that link doesnt work...

Cheers

Its an open-cast gold mine. ;) Actually they are just about as deep as they can go in the hole, and are moving to an underground site to the east. After they have finished with the mine (hole) they are going to make it into 'Martha Lake'. It should take up to 10 years to fill up, with natural rainfall and the water table as well as some diversion from a local stream (I forget the name).

Well thats Geography for ya. We did gold mining and went to Martha. :P
