I had to go to google to find out what on earth that second Virgin Blue plane was (the ones that's not a boing or a bus)

It's an Embraer E190 isn't it? A sharp looking plane, which if I recall correctly they flew about NZ for a bit to try it out.

Yup a 190 to be exact. they fly them every now and again on trans tasman routes, they also have some 170's as well. think metro on steriods, 2+2 seating quite long and narrow. one thing i noticed watching the 190 approach was that it seemed to have a higher angle of attack than everything else and it didn't seem to be affected by the wind as much, maybe better pilots
apparantly VB are still looking for the right route to use them on, as they don't quite fit the routes they are using them on at the moment (according to an article in an aviation mag here)Last edited by jastheace on Thu Jun 10, 2010 12:15 am, edited 1 time in total. In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.
