Decided to head out to the airport with the Nikon D90 yesterday. Was fairly quiet between 2.15 - 3pm. Lots of smaller national stuff. Just thought I would post some of the bigger aircraft. Was fairly hot as you can tell in some of the photos.

The main reason I went out for a look... She arrived just as I was about to pack up and leave.

Poor old NZCH, like you all say, we are getting a fancy-pants new terminal, for what? More outdated ATR's sad.gif . Although, I'm not sure if any of you would of heard it, but something very loud and slow was cruising over our house on the north side of the waimak, at about half-past eleven last night???? Maybe a C-5's in town? ohmy.gif

I,m very sure all C5s only arrived in daylight hours , more likely to be ANZ Cargo 737 ,

Marty that s an A330 . one thing to ask is how many 747s are left in the ANZ fleet .

The Last Time I saw a Qantas A330 at Akl all The Mail was Falling off the top of the rear conveyer Belt - the only person Interested in Catching the stuff falling off was a customs dog handler that was walking past.

Nice shots BigBird! Love the Airbus shots, I've always liked the A340s for some reason.

Which reminds me, I should probably get out to NZAA on one of these fine days.

Why do the C-5's only come in when its daylight? I it because there only equipped for VFR? laugh.gif

It was definitely not a 737-300, so are the cargo '37's the 200 model?

Most crews are not familar with layout , on the norm , many still use 'Follow Me' trucks in daylight all-tho as the airport grows this is getting less done .

Yep, the last -219. A 737-219C/ADV ZK-NQC. Does overnight freight from AKL to CHC.
