Three from the roof

Snapped a few photos today when I arrived at Funchal Airport, Madeira. If the weather holds then there will be a lot more from this mecca for airport photos, the hillside behind the runway is excellent for getting approach and landing shots. Here are three shots taken from the observation terrace today



I had just arrived on the aircraft in the next shot, Primera Air (with a Danish registration, operated for a Norwegian travel company and flying from Oslo, Norway, to Funchal, Madeira). Flight time was 4 hours and 53 minutes, aircraft was de-iced before take off from Oslo at 0700 local.





and the bonus shot, no stress here !!!!




After Madeira it will be via AMS to Tokyo, then from Tokyo to CHC.

Beauty pics Jerry , on your flights , window seat all the time ?

No, aisle seat for all the longer flights so that I can get up and walk around a lot. But for the trip to Madeira, yes a window seat so that I could video the landing, although it was normal this time. Great for photos at Funchal, and the road around the airport gives some fantastic vantage points. But soon back to CHC !!! Probably my favourte 3 foreign airports for getting good shots, Zurich, Swizerland, Funchal, Madeira and Innsbruck, Austria.
