Fokker 100 cockpit

Popped up onto the panorama terrace whilst I was waiting for the AMS-Tokyo-CHC flight, and saw that they have an ex-KLM Fokker 100 up there on display now. Very welcome to get out of the wind and rain and I took the opportunity to snap a few photos of the cockpit,







and the 747 400 about to depart for Tokyo



Very annoyed and also surprised to see people being directed into a body scanner at AMS, which I thought that the EU had banned. I asked for a manual check instead, but 99% of the passengers walked through it. The security man told me that it was 'safe' but I still opted to go through the metal detector instead. Heard it before, that radiation is 'safe'. Wonder how they are allowed to have it there if the EU has said no to them now on fears about cancer.

Now waiting for the Tokyo to CHC flight.

Did a bit of research on the net, and found that on page 5 of the AMS brochure about the security scanners, that it says that for now, that going through these scanners is NOT obligatory.

But how come AMS still has scanners (even if they are so called 'safe' millimetre waves). Get rid of them all whilst there are any questions about health/cancer.
