The Avro Anson has just done its first flight in cloudless skies above Nelson after a 10 year restoration! Sorry for picture quality not 100%(Had to resize for 5mb limit)

Thanks for the pic above, was a great day.

Just a quick note seeing their is a lot of interest, I won't be posting any photos here until the owner has had a chance to have a look at them first.

HEADS UP:
However, you can see a photo from the very first flight on One News tonight (Jim Hickey has a pic) and if you watch Campbell live tonight you will see a story on the aeroplane so keep an eye out.

Had two great flights with it, shared my second flight with John King and it was good to get him up for a look at the aeroplane.
Flying alongside on the first flight was very special indeed and I thank Bill for the invitation to do that.

Just got off the phone with Bill he is still on cloud 9 and who can blame him following such a significant day. He is really pleased with the handful of photos sent so far which from my point of view is great.
We have decided to use this shot as the signature photo for the time being as Bill is getting lots of emails plone calls etc and said "It seems things have gone a bit viral" so we hope you enjoy the photo.
10 years of had work and a result such as this is amazing.
This photo was taken towards the end of first flight, an amazing place to be.
Cheers Gavin
