Not what you see everyday at an International airport

I have travelled to all the continents except Antartica in search of an AIR TRUK in regular service. So far, not even in darkest Africa have I found one, but can you imagine my surprise at finding this aircraft at ZURICH airport? ZRH now has both viewing terraces open, and from 'B' I spotted a MD10 or MD11 parked over by the hangars, so went for a walk to have a look. But before getting there, this is what I found......



This Lockheed 1049 Super Constellation is now operated by the Super Constellation Flyers Association, based in Basel, Switzerland.









And it is good to see that ZRH is still running their airport tours, large group of keen photographers here getting some good shots of the daily SQ flight rotating....



and still a lot of activity from the RJs as well, although their days must be numbered now.....



No sign of an AIR TRUK though

Cool shots , Looking at that Connie it has only come out from a clean ... good area to check is the bottom off engine nacelles , after running little they generally are smeared with oil stains , there is a model for FS9 least think it still able to be purchased , but course the Manfred Jahn model is the better choice today .

Looks like the Turkish flag (near the rear of the aircraft) is around the wrong way in the next shot.

I believe the flags are often deliberately painted back to front on the right hand side to symbolise the flag "blowing in the wind" (i.e. if it was a real flag it would be reversed on one side). A lot of airlines in the USA do this.

Yes this is standard convention. Even the NZ flag on AirNZ planes will be the same.
