We had the original CN295 prototype do a tour around 1989 and stop in Christchurch - had a chance to look then - another contender along with the ATP .. course ATR won .. Nice photo's smile.gif

Nice shots indeed Derek! I think ZK-JWH (the 206 in the photo) was used as a photoship for some air to air activity.

Can you please advise what time it took off from Wellywood? Thanks, Mike

Hell of a long way from home for a photo , maybe this might be another considered to beef up the RNZAF .. the thimble nose and what looks like a SLAR on the underside .. has the rear open much the same as a Andover ... 2 roles in one, maybe possible ?

I think that is the intent Ian.. I understand there is a version (not sure whether it can be done with this one?) you simply roll out the survelliance gear and then it becomes a transport aircraft. I see it as supplemental aircraft to the Herc and Orion and whatever replace them

As previously mentioned .. this was a candidate for the HS748 replacement .. push the pax out the back , be interesting to see if it go's any further rather than just a look!
