The two lads got back from a few days in AKL tonight ... here are few (a big few) of what they saw and want to share.... you may want to grab a coffee :wink2:
Dont try and view them full screen ... i haven't had time to reduce some of them.

I'm obviously spending too much time at work. Over the last few days I think I have talked to all of the above and was probably on duty when most of the above were taken as I remember each one.

Oh well, must go - time to head off to work as it's night shift again tonight. :sleepy:

I'm just wondering if I happened to see these 2 young chaps. I had a simulator duty on Wednesday afternoon and when I parked my car at the Air NZ jet base car park I saw 2 young guys in the car park standing beside the fence that overlooks taxiway B. At first I thought that they might be up to no good until I saw one of them had a camera which meant they were plane spotters.

Haha done that before, was taxiing past and saw guys taking pictures, couple of months later saw the end result on airliners.net.

As a thread drift do they still use the 76 sim? We got told they were packing it up soon, and you guys were heading to Sydney for your OCA's?

Yes they still use the AKL 767 sim which I was training in on Wednesday. We only do a training sim detail in the AKL sim as it is only a 767-200 with a non Pegasus FMC so it is quite limited in scope.
The next day we fly to SYD and use the Qantas 767 sim for the second part, which is the regulatory proficiency check.
The AKL 767 sim is only just hanging in there and the techs are robbing parts off the old 747 sim to keep it going.
The difference between the AKL and SYD sims is much like comparing FS2000 to FSX.
It is possible in the near future that we do all 767 training in the Qantas sim but of course that depends on how long they keep their last remaining one for as only Qantas freight has 767's and I think that is flown by contractors and not Qantas. They are halfway through dissembling the second one. A huge job.

More than likely CP ... If they were both over 6ft and solid ... you caught them. :ph43r:
