Came back today past Wanaka airport and the Boeing Stearman E75 was outside doing an engine run up. Pity about the light, which was SO dull ahead of a front, but here are a few pictures. This aircraft will be used for the wing-walking show. The aircraft has a 9 cylinder 450hp Pratt & Whitney radial (manufactured in 1942) and cruises at around 83 knots. Aided by a strong tailwind, the cycle used today averaged over 38 km/h on the way back to Wanaka!!!!

It was not outside long, so lucky to get the shots before it was put back in the hangar.....

Smooth landings.
