Spent Sunday afternoon at Funchal airport, on the island of Madeira, out in the Atlantic Ocean west of Morocco. What made it so good were the fantastic viewpoints overlooking the runway. I cannot understand why they did not put the control tower there, as the views of aircraft are so good. Lots of locals there watching too, some with some very expensive cameras and long lenses. First five photos here to give you an idea....

Smooth landings.

Lucky! Wellington's similar just there aren't the varied number of aircraft you get there! (Oh and it seems to always look sunny)

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.
