It is always hard to know whether to take a video or take a still shot, but for this Easyjet arrival at Madeira (Funchal) I decided on video. Wind was about 45 degrees crosswind at about 20 knots and gusting. Interesting thing was that the aircraft climbed away and did not try another approach for 25 minutes, whilst other aircraft were landing. Easyjet only had a 30 minute turnaround, so this made the departure from Madeira late as well.

The TAP A319 which came in after the Easyjet manages a decent landing after a mixed approach. The crosswind and gusts are evident:-

smooth landings.

Very interesting videos, thanks!

Have you seen this video of a Finair 757 massively overshooting, but continuing to land, more than half-way down the runway? (it starts at 02:05)

Its one loooong overshoot!

W00t ! I like the way the camera kept rolling, aimed where the cloud of smoke would appear ... Nice to see such confidence laugh.gif
