OUCH! .. obviously the bugs are now ironed out now , i recall a doco on TV many years back ... auto rotation test with a Huey , a very heavy landing snaps the tail boom off so then the energy left , looked bloody horrible for ones in the back!

i can see how they would be a disadvantage on a hot insertion or tight insertion
