I was so lucky this afternoon....went to pick up a friend from the airport....flight was delayed....so , i shot around to the Air force apron to see if anything was there....and as luck would have it, they were test flying a black hawk smile.gif Watched him for about 30mins then had to leave.

Ive never seen or heard one before this weekend, and watching it fly....they seem to be a very stable aircraft....and a lovely sound........anyway enjoy..

They are very cool and look really agressive with the long range tanks.
I stood head on with one on the tarmac at Woodbourne today, rotors turning and the tanks fitted and what a view.

Then tonight just on dark two of them came past flat out on approach to Woodbourne, bloody great to have them here.

Like the angle on the third one, they are a great looking machine.
The guys have some great technology in the head gear in that the microphones etc are out of the airflow.

If I remember, will ask the guys what day they are planning to head back to Christchurch.
Have had a couple of half days off work and have taken quite a few ground based Blackhawk photos and its been a lot of fun.
