In Zurich today and had a trip out to the airport. I was hoping to take the lunchtime SQ 747 but it had turned into an A380. Not sure why but there were a lot of people there to watch it, and also a tv camera, so perhaps there was something special today. Still think that the 747 looks better, but see what you think. The best photo comes first:-

Not only has ZRH opened a new observation terrace on the new terminal, but they have even equipped it with great FREE binoculars, and even a loudspeaker so that you can listen to ATC approach. Add to this toilets, coffee and snack machine and plenty of seating (indoors and out) and you have a superb spotting place. Full marks to ZRH!!!

Smooth landings.

She's a big girl, all right! I still think the 747 had the edge in terms of style and "look": but I'm a bit of a "classics" man, so clear bias there tongue.gif Sounds like they've gone all out for the observation platform - good on them! You're pics are great, too - great composition, excellent clarity & colour. The airport itself certainly helps - nice "background" scenery. Thanks for sharing thumbup1.gif

Have to say it again .. Jezzz that thing is ugly ! .. redesign the nose is only thing needed , the airport facility for plane spotting ' Luxury ' . In a book about Christchurch International Airport 'With Great Foresight' the author Tony Phillips wrote how Canterbury people flocked to the airport to watch all that was happening . I think a edited version should reprinted name 'Lack off Insight'
