I went down for a look today as well and took this photo on the way down.

Weather not so good in CHCH.

Off topic but this was taken on an RNZAF 757 a week or two back.

Finally a C-17 heading out this morning. The Hercules prop contrails were pretty amazing down there today.

Good on you for getting out there in less than average conditions and giving it a go.
The light might not have been the best but I got some C130 shots with 7 rows of prop contrails so that made the trip down more than worthwhile
Was soaked when I walked in the door though cool.gif

That 'thermal distortion' on the Air NZ Engineering sign is amazing - still can't get me head around how 'light' can be mangled like that!

Husker, do you know if there has or is an "effect" in f/s to simulate that heat haze from an engine?

Hmm, I've seen certain models in FS that show the jet blast from the rear of the engine, not really heat haze though, I guess. smile.gif
