Nice photos, that Pitts is a monster! The Beagle is an interesting looking aircraft too, there can't be too many of them in the country.

There are two Pups in the country (another has just arrived) and one Bulldog (the more powerful military version). Just realised that all the aircraft I photographed are quite rare with only or two of each in the country.

Naki - More organisation than me. I was there shooting all day but I've been stuck rebuilding my kitchen instead of sorting photos... Awesome day though smile.gif

The S12 Pitts was awesome smile.gif I'm getting worried... I have always been interested in homebuilt + aerobatic machines but last weekends trip has me loving the WW1 stuff. I feel so old!!!

As for who is who...

The older of the two is Paul Marshall, President of the NZ Aerobatics Club and owner of Pitts S1-S ZX-WIZ. He was presented the trophy by Stuart Langley, Brian's son.

Stuart is also a pilot - on Metroliners. Stuart arrived at the end of the day for the presentation. It was a special moment as Paul was also a business partner with Brian.

I learnt to fly at Stratford Aeroclub 22 years ago with Stuart - and he still recognised me!!! Totally unexpected smile.gif and an awesome finish to the day!!!

Pitts S1-S ZK-WIZ is a 1981 factory-built machine that has been in NZ since 1989 thanks to Mr W Arnold and has been owned by great pilots like John Luff and Doug Brooker before being setup in a sydicate in 1999.
