NZFF

Well, back from my trip down to Seattle and Portland. I'll start the photos off with civilian/WWII/post WWII aircraft.
Then you tell me if I should do a separate topic for WWI. I don't want peoples machines to stall out from to many photos loading at once!
Then I'll do another topic for the Evergreen Museum which is South West of Portland and is where the Spruce Goose is kept. Amazing museum. More WWII aircraft than MOF and a few are still airworthy.

I'll resize and upload WWI tomorrow and maybe Evergreen if I get time. I'll do them in separate topics to help those with slower connections!

Wait till you see the WWI aircraft. The only thing I could think of that they were missing for WWI fighters was a Be2C. Otherwise they have one of everything.

Yes, the Sabre is nice. I wasn't even going to take a photo of it but then I noticed it had RCAF colours, and seeing as I now live in Canada, I thought I'd better

Am I seeing things or does the SR71 type have 3 engines. Can you clarify.

It's a D-21 drone I think, have a look here for some more info.

Yes, it actually isn't an SR71, its the predecessor of the SR71, the A-12, kind of. This aircraft however is modified to M-21 status. They added a second cockpit for the drone operator.
This is the only M-21 aircraft in existence. The other one (only two were built) was lost when the drone it launched, hit the aircraft.
I'm just resizing the WWI photos now.

Thanks for clearing that up. I can see the budget of a govenment is um limited when you can throw away a drone after each flight. Poor taxx payer. Cheers, Adrian,

Looks a bit dark-and-dingy near those WWII machine shots at the end there? Are they the airframes the time forgot?

I don't know why it is so dark where the WWI and the WWII machines are. Creating a certain atmosphere or something? It sure does make photography a challenge though!

They do the same at the Air Force World Museum Wigram in Christchurch , I was told the light degrades fabric and color and on it first opening signage saying no photos using flash,s ? , this to be true i do wonder about many historical museums lit up like Christmas trees , more likely a budget thing , save on paying someone to replace light bulbs .
