Was in Wanaka for a few nights and dropped in here on Wednesday as we were leaving. Just a few shots of the aircraft there and apologies for the quality of the images, I was really tired that day. winkyy.gif
Mostly cars at that museum, with a few aircraft around.

First off, a De Havilland Devon, I think it was ex-airforce, it has a Airforce rego on it still.

Then there was a mint condition Auster J1, an aircraft I have flown a lot in FS. Looked like I could jump in and start it up everything looked so familiar!

There was also an Antonov AN-2 down the end of that hangar, with a Lithuanian rego on it still. I is still a live aircraft and they hope to get it flying again

Opposite the Auster was a Percival Prentice in remarkably good nick. They look like they stole the tail from a Gloster Meteor though.

In the next shed there was an unnamed bi-plane. Does anyone know what it is? I'm not too sharp when it comes to ww1 planes.

Around the corner, an Airtourer sat. It didn't look in too bad condition.

The main aircraft in this hangar was a beautiful Lockheed C-60 Lodestar.

As many of you will of seen the Gate Guardian at Wanaka is a Canberra Bomber. An impressive plane, but it really needs a wash.

And just to the north of the Canberra is a Mig 21 in tiger Camo, still in good condition.

I took this as a reference shot for repainters when the Captain Sim 737 comes out. PM me if you want a larger image.

This Cessna 510 here I spotted at NZWF as we were pulling out. No pics sorry, I had to steal Naki's pic tongue.gif .

Thanks for looking.

Hey I thought that last pic looked familiar! tongue.gif was it the same one as there are 4 Citation Mustangs on the NZ reg?

The Auster J-1 is interesting as I believe this is the only orginal J-1 left in NZ - all the others have been converted to Aiglets IIRC..no wonder you think you could fly way in it as the excellent freeware FSX model is also a J-1.

The WW1 aircraft is Se-5A replica 3/4 scale.

Ive seen the AN2 flying (and the Prentice) ..it would great to see that going again ...and the Lodestar if ever that was possible..the Airtourer looks in good nick but the same can't be said about the Canberra sad.gif

Funny thing Ive been to Wanaka twice and never got in the museum (something more interesting was happening outside!)

Great pics Connor , yeah, the AN2 was a flier in 94/96 Wanaka show , impressive,to watch , seem to hang in the sky and even the C-60 was looking for a fly but could not get a cert for the show so been grounded ever since

I didn't realise that AN-2 was still in New Zealand. Would definitely be great to see it back in the skies again.

I don't know if it is the same one, I didn't get a decent look at the registration. The colour scheme was similar or the same though.
