Book out this year

A separate section for photographers to upload and comment on everything from amateur plane spotting images to professional air to air shots.

I showed the publisher of my future book some Air 2 Air photos of the P-40C Tomahawk taken at Ardmore a couple of weeks back and they were very impressed.
So we have decided to get on with it and publish a book this year, work starts in earnest next month.
More news on this to follow later but if you are looking for a nice Christmas present for yourself or an aviation fan in the family then this might be for you.

Will it be a "coffee table" size....? I think I suggested this in a thread a couple of years ago....

Don't forget to have a discount for us "gold card" holders, there seem to be a few of us around... laugh.gif

Good luck with it anyway.

It will be interesting picking the photos, the publishing team will most likely look after that side of things.
We do have a theme that I have had in mind for ages as well as a specific writing approach, it will be different to books we have seen here previously and with a hell of a lot of work we should get a good result.

In terms of discounts and things, that will be up to the publishers as well and they are investing a lot into this and me travelling all over the place following the aeroplanes burns a hole in one's pocket but for me the flying and the people are what will make this worth it.

Won't go in to too much detail as yet as their is a lot to do but in terms of quality, it will be right up there and is the reason I am working with the guys that are publishing the book.
The quality of the book represents the quality of the content so we want to have everything just right.

The good new also is that this is the first book and not the last.

Sorry Ian missed your question.
Yes it is hard covered and large format.
Been a lot of work to get to this point but everything is going well, just signed off on the photo edit a couple of hours ago.

On another subject John Lamont is seen here getting into position for the Classic Wings cover shot. Always enjoy flying with John.
