Nice tidy formation , I'm pleasd it still has the authentic paint on it , still a few Strikemasters in OZ and have been repainted , sure as heck dose lot look as striking as one with washed out sandy brown and near lime green .

Great shot Gavin, the A-37 looks like it carry enough gas for an oz-nz round trip.....nice trio.

the A-37 looks like it carry enough gas for an oz-nz round trip[/quote] I was flying with one of the owners in another type last week and was informed that burning over a tonne of fuel an hour per engine down low is pretty much the norm if you want to go fast in an A37.

Great photo Gavin - I was out over Ponui Island with a student in a Grumman at the time, was doing my best to keep my distance from you guys but those jets burn up a lot of sky rather quickly! Didn't think that dull overcast lighting would be particularly ideal for you but looks like results turned out nicely anyway!

I did see you mate, and due to the profile we flew in order to keep things tight we did burn up a lot of sky.
Weather was not the greatest but as all of the jsets and people were available we had a crack at it, and the light was good sometimes and bad at times as well.

The good thing is that it was very smooth and we could fly very close together which really helps, and we all had it a bit easier without the glaring sun so upsides and downsides I guess.

What were you using as a camera ship to match the jets speed?

We used Harvard 52, the old girl was getting along at 155 knots, and if you fly the right profiles the jets can formate nicely.

Another nice background for my PC...that represents all current ex miltary jet types flying in NZ...only exception is the L-29. Have you managed to get an air to air of one of those?
