Good to see the pushing off the Texan/PC9 , we need something to bolster our air force ... I like to see a S-Tucano jump in over here and take up a spot showing itself off course getting you in the back seat for a spin and a recommendation winkyy.gif

Great stuff Gavin, shes a really lovely looking machine that Texan, was fabulous to see the old and new Texans (Harvard) flying together too huh
We were sitting in the stands right behind the apron where the T6, L39 and Vampire and Blunty were, got to watch them startup, and taxi past what a fabulous range of sounds.

Fantastic shots Gavin, especially the one of the Texan and the Spitfire/Red Checkers formation, really amazing.

Very awesome shots Gavin! That 400mm prime(?) you had looked really nice (and heavy). It must of been hot over by all of that pyrotechnic, I was sure feeling the heat over on the crowd line!

I'll get around to posting my pictures soon enough (once I've had a look through them).

Really heavy but good when I got it right.
Had injured my wrist before the show so it made things quite difficult but just got on with it.
Had it for the week and it was good but I won't be getting one anytime soon.

It was a 400mm 2.8 with a 1.4 convertor so was good for getting photos like the one below.

As for the pyros, yeah pretty full on over there and learnt quite a bit on the Saturday so picked a better position on Sunday where it wasn't quite so hot.

Dave Phillips forms up on a Cessna 206 at Warbirds Over Wanaka last Friday. Spectacular view and he was very close.
The sound of thunder was amazing as he powered away from each pass.

Am "slowly" getting through my photos, too many other things to do after a week away.

Last pic from me, was a good show and thanks to the organisers for all of their help.

Really like this photo. Brings all of the elements together in one photo and shows what airshows are all about.

My place is in line with Rwy 25 at Tauranga- The Hunter was giving it some beans when it returned from Wanaka! Man it sounded good!

Going in for a strafing run , now you no how the Pakistani's felt during the Indo-Paki War 1971 , the IAF Hunters swooping in and decimating the Paki's armour .
