P-40C Tomahawk Thread

A separate section for photographers to upload and comment on everything from amateur plane spotting images to professional air to air shots.

Thought I would put one big thread together on the Tomahawk.
Was a busy time with Classic Fighters happening at pretty much the same time so never got round to it.
Not sure if it is a good idea for dial up users but thought I would give it a go.
What I do know is sites like photobucket need to make things easier if they want to compete with the likes of Facebook, as it is so easy to upload photos there.

Really interesting to see them side by side so you can see the little differences in design. Thanks Gavin!

That pilot shot again!
And those covers... the paint finish on that plane makes my teeth itch.
This is not normally a good thing, but that's what happens.
I want to stroke it.
While it's flying.

Is it my imagination or did they change the spinner? Or.. is the red spinner in the first pic not the original (or even not belong to the P40)? Just looks like a different profile but could be an optical illusion.

Really great pics thumbup1.gif

The spinner is not off the aeroplane, it does have a two piece spinner but that it not part of the set up.
I cannot think of many better looking aeroplanes that I have flown with.
It was going to be painted in AVG colours but the owner changed his mind and I think this scheme looks awesome on this aeroplane, in fact the font used in the numbers is what we tried to replicate with the book title but without the gaps.

Did anyone notice how they snuck those 2 radio modules into the back of the front mounted machine guns as to not spoil the look of the instrument panel. Good thinking Batman. What a 1st class restoration. I cant seem to find a scratch on it.

Good spotting, was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice that. cool.gif
They have gun butt covers to go over both radios which makes things look very authentic.
