A 3-day flightfest on your doorstep!
I am 5 km from the airfield, and aircraft transiting NZWP - NZNE fly along the valley giving a great view from my front deck.

This photography is not quite in Conroy territory, but I popped a few shots of the RNZAF airliner doing silly things

Also interesting to see the Red Checkers from a distance, you get a great idea of the space they use, where they go to, offstage, and the scale of their manoeuvres.
It was really windy, they must've been blown about quite a bit... no pics but I'm sure HamWest will cover all that.

Thanks Marty, phone camera wasn't going to deliver high fidelity, it just felt great to lean on the gate post and see this stuff happening in the backyard, so to speak.

Sing out when you're up here, we may squeeze in a MOTAT outing eh?

I don't see jet man hanging off on the tail is did he go like Mary Bobbins and thru one of big whirly tube things on the wings

Top of wing... spreadeagled and hanging on for dear life.
You should know, you pioneered the position!

Actually, it's not much of a spectator sport watching the jetman jet about.
He's human-sized after all, and with a bit of decent altitude so he can get to the ripcord if all else fails, not very visible.

Hence the Big Screens on site fed from the whilrybird in hot pursuit.
Probably best viewed on Youtube... thinking of which, apparently Mr. Dotcom was there too, in a nuisance helicopter; love to see him strap on a jet and fly a loop.

Instead of four jet engines ... he'd have to go B-52 style and with some of his Auckland skyrockets for JATO ... then across the NZ ... you can hear "LOOOUK ET ME .. EM FLYING AND NO ONE CAN CATCH ME ..haha haha " laugh.gif .....

And you won't have any problem spotting him rolleyes.gif
