Hi guys
When flying this morning I notices two Bizjets at Nelson. I didn't have my camera at the time, so I came back when we came to pick up my auntie.

VH-OCV

This is an Australian one owned by Execujet Australia.

Nice photos, wonder whats going down in Nelson, or maybe its cheaper parking there rather than NZWN?

VH-OCV was in auckland the other day. And a global express 5000 in nelson...... Nice, im sure they are there in the region, I dont think someone that owns a $35million dollar aircraft, are going to be counting pennies over parking charges.....

Yeah no idea aye. It's so big though! I'm surprised it could even land in Nelson.

You would be surprised by the performance of high end business jets, will fly higher and faster and further than any commercial airliner, using less gas also..... beats me why somebody would want a 767 Business jet, when these are so much cooler....... also bearing in mind that the Global express, probably came from the states non stop so would have been pretty light...

Different folks have different needs.
Sometimes you need a little more space

or perhaps you are simply a Sultan with a little spare cash

I suppose different strokes for different folks, but I'd much rather a sleek business jet... than a big whale of a airliner..... bearing in mind a business jet can have all the luxuries of a big airliner, just smaller...

Nelson is pretty popular now for a holiday home spot. I hear Bill Gates even has a holiday home in Nelson? So perhaps it's just the time of the year that the northern hemisphere people are here to avoid the winter and sun themselves in quiet little Nelson. Thanks for the pics!

Sometimes "Bigger is better" and that often applies for those big, rich people. To have a building taller than anyone else, a car more expensive than anyone else, or a plane bigger than anyone else. I only know of two flying 767 private jets, the Google guys, and the Russian guy who owns Chelsea football club.

Well in actual fact I'd prefer whale of a big jet (not an a380 though - bleh) than the Lear 60 or BD700. You could do so much more! Take off, switch on the AP, go bake some muffins in your huge kitchen, do a few laps of the pool, play FS, go to your own private buffet restaurant, jump on your bed, play on the playground, watch the Bill on your a billion inch flat panel TV, go on NZFF, go on msn and talk to James and Alex, sample carpet sample books, hop on IVAC or VRC and tell some idiots what to do, make humungus cake and lick the humungus bowl, spend a while at your own private disco, go to your private flying cinema, take a Tecnam around your own interior flying airfield, shoot some bad guys, burn stuff, watch high school musical, turn off the AP and land your aeroplane.

Could you do that in a BD700, or would you rather a super-extended private airliner?

 >nzflag<

Well, you could put a smaller aircraft (say, Lear) or helicopter in the hold for trips to airfields that couldn't quite support your monster. :P

Yeah man, I'd set up the autoland system on my monster about 15 miles out on the ILS, jump into my Lear in the hold, have it started up, and then released out the bottom where I could zoom away!

Apparently the owners of GAP clothing in the US have been on holiday in the Marlborough sounds and parked their jet in Nelson. They are only worth something like $3 billion, so landing and ramp fees are not an issue !!

Hmm, I was driving on the motorway past the airport today, didn't see the BD700 there, but then again I didnt have a very good view.

You can't argue with that  Good one Brock!
