Grabbed the historical 'DING DONG" for me door bell , I sold me flat and upgrade from the 'Man Cave" as Marty call's it to this .. and about to move in , you can see were my flight simulator is going to be , i'll change the fence to make it a little more inviting and just by the yellow fuse mount my little art workshop come studio with a Mars door ... may have to spend a week mowing the lawns ... previous left it as scruffy as ell .. call it my Boeing cave![]()

After the Millions spent I'm very disappointed with who ever planned and designed the airport .. Christchurch was famous in New Zealand for the vistas views and access to the weekend out but today now shut down and gone .. Gone the roof top spotting and gone the the freedom to look . Sure a Dash8 would be happy here .

Nice Pics Ian - is that the Alternative now to the old rooftop ob's area?

Sean , not sure what it is these days .. they used to have viewing from every position and i even recall fence lines no higher than your waist ..... today you can see damn diddley swat due to design numb nuts .... airports are designed to bring tourism .... some say what its there business cos its company - funny the Europeans follow the practice of rebuilding airports with the freedom to move and view ... the airport today has lost that , to look out over the ramp air-side - guess they want to look after the population just like sheep and the sheep follow.

Great work Ian , but it sure isnt what it used to be , which is interesting when the manager said on radio the other day , that 65% of their income comes from NON FLYING visitors .
And you really dont want to wind up those avsec / parking people , and dont mention the "T" or "B" word for gods sake .
Glad your feeling good enough to get out there .... good on ya![]()
Have to head out there now , catch you later.

Now that is a very interesting percentage and that very book by Tony Phillips pointed that out ... now from most postings domestic and international favour viewing platforms ... a new building and structure but no roof top access ! ... in the history dating back to original build how many people used the outside stairs opposite the International into the early/mid 1990 sSplitpin wrote:QUOTE (Splitpin @ Aug 11 2013,4:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>And you really dont want to wind up those avsec / parking people , and dont mention the "T" or "B" word for gods sake .
