Love the Saab 340/2000 fuselage shape :P

Also, someone really needs to paint a flyable Sounds Air caravan for FS, preferably in time for REAL NZ Marlborough (hint hint)

Yup, very close. If you check the spotters intelligence you will see a map of NZWN and most of the places you can go. This area allows you to be on the centerline, with the safety extension completed it provides protection from the northerly, and ideal low level head on spotting.

that must be so weird for the pilots coming in, seeing some bloke standing near the threshold, on the centreline

Nice photos, that Tomahawk appears to be ZK-WAG which is usually based at the Auckland Aero Club just down the road from my flying school.

Ah ok. It has the same paintscheme. I don't think I'd want to fly a Traumahawk all the way to Wellington from Auckland anyway.

I've wondered that myself sometimes, mind you not sure how much time they would have to look hard enough to see me, and with my concrete camouflage on... :ph43r:

Nice, whats the megapixels?

Max is 12mp, but I take most my shots on 6mp, so they are still fairly large and I can crop them down and still get a decent image out of my rather badly taken photographs.

The camera is actually my Dad's but I borrow it frequently. It has loads of features on it which I still need to learn how to use such as the aperture settings. Also, I really want to get a shot of an in focus aircraft with a blurred 'moving' background- anyone know how to do this?

Also, another thing that I need to learn is how to get the sky the correct colour. There is an autofocus button which you click once aimed on the object you are taking a picture of, eg an airplane. Once that happens, the camera adjusts the light so the aircraft is sharp and in nice bright colour, but the sky either goes all white or a really bright light green/blue colour. Anyone know what I am doing wrong there?

For the blurry background you use a relatively slow shutter speed 1/250th or so, and pan the aircarft as it flies past.
How you'd do that on a modern point 'n shoot is beyond me.
And, you can expose for ambient light by pre-pointing at the horizon not the plane and adjusting contrast etc later on your computer.
