Well seeing as Ian wants a dedicated post for the F27 - I have now created one!

Sorry these are a tad grainy - will be back again tomorrow for arrival and departure!

Oh and Lawrie this was my first time hearing a RR Dart! - Wow was impressed - definitely one of the best sounding engines! thumbup1.gif ohmy.gif

Yep,........ its a totally unique and unforgettable sound.
The Dart may be very "agricultural" compared to the turboprops of today,.......... but it started the revolution..........

It powered the first turboprop airliner in history, the Vickers Viscount, which was a success, and also the incredibly successful Fokker F27 Friendship.
Then of course the Dart also powered the HS748 and the Andover from the Hawker-Siddely group, the AW650 Argosy, the Handley-Page Herald (originally designed for 4 piston engines), just to name a few other well known aircraft.
Over the years ive seen photos of other aircraft that have had Darts put on them, including DC3s, Convairs, ive even got a photo in a book of a DC4 with 4 Darts on it, and a Grumman Goose with 2 Darts on it , and a Martin 404 with 2 Darts replacing the original radials.

Great set of photos, i only wish i had been there with you to see and hear it !! thumbup1.gif
She's looking a little the worse for wear and age, but all things considered, pretty good for an old girl.
Pity you didnt see them in their all their shiny glory in NAC's Golden Years.

Definately feel free to post any more pics you get smile.gif

On my type rating course it took 3 days just to cover the prop!
An interesting combo; a British turbine tractor engine and a Dutch prop (complete with lots of locks). smile.gif
But it was a rugged combo and performed well.
Water meth - ON ......Trim up!
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Captain Gaza there doing a diligent preflight. We were sim buddies for our type ratings....top bloke. Sort of guy that you could have a double engine failure and the left wing fall off and he would just calmly ask for the relevant checklist. smile.gif

Funny you mention that wast talking to him just before he departed (see pics below) - real decent guy I asked him to pause as he swung round so I could get a got prop shot and he did - unfortunately the pics weren't very good sad.gif
