Great photos Chris and Jono , what do ya recon Marty , this paddock area should be built into a plane spotter park , elevated terrace to get away from the fence but far enough so peoples can't jump in ... maybe later a little tuck shop come food stand in the back ... !

Thanks for looking dude ... took me 2 hours to sort ,crop , etc etc ..... but bloody good work from the lads.
I agree with you regarding that spot , they could post one of those ASS people there , even charge a couple of bucks if they must.
Have the coffee or ice cream van there ... perfect.

Agreed ... the land can still be fenced off for the sheep to graze , but to put a plane watchers building, even later a restaurant further out the back , primary thing thing is an elevated position , only radio going inside is the ATC traffic ... we would need an inside for those cold N/Easters and the Southerly , couple dollars , be well worth it .

I wish I had the capital to start something like this .. or even permission from the Christchurch Airport Authority ... had they had a viewing deck on the main terminal that wold have been chocker .

Great shots, especially the 'maximum drag' one...Is thrust reverse only available on the inner engines, or is it also available on 1 and 4 but just not needed at CHC ?
(and I still think the nose section should be about 3 or 5m longer, just for pretty :P )

It is quite funny when mentioned the Boeing 707 in its day they said an airliner would arrived with two decks , or even bigger or even more fantastic ideas , if that thing did have a nose job it would revert to an over sized ARBUST .. but the mo ... should not mention that or may one next flight out.

Yes only inners reverse, someone mentioned it is to avoid FOD because the outers overhang the rwy edge or somesuch. And I agree longer would be better, this always strikes me as the model they released before the stretched version that was the one they really meant to build in the first place!

Thankyou Charl - foreign objects and debris are a major concern. We are in complete agreement about the forward fuselage
