As I was driving through town I heard an ad on the radio for the open day (I had saw an ad in the paper - but completely forgotten) - its lucky I had my camera in the car. :lol:

It turns out there were 3 choppers there;

An R22 that was also there

...And a Hughes 500

I'm not sure what I'm trying to get in this shot - logos or something?

Ah - here come the logos

I also got some shots of the VAS aircraft down at the lakefront - so I'll put a few of those up a bit later this evening. ;)

Nice- What time were you down there?
I went and had a look also around 1:30-2....

I reckon a repaint of that H500 is on the cards

Great shots Alex, esp the one of the Squirrel front on from the tractor...if only there were no people in the way... :P

Seems like open day season at the moment ;)

Cheers!

We were supposed to make the trip down to NZJO after spending the night in NZTG but ditched our plans and headed back to NZHN instead.

We worked at our own Open Day and then the following week at Taupo's Open Day so we figured a relaxing weekend with a Beer and BBQ was in order.

And we have already been booked to work at Taurangas Open Day some time in July and on the note of Tauranga the new Helipad/Hangar on the Hospital grounds is nearly completed and awaits the rest of the Pads reseal before Liam can move ZK-HZN and his equipment into the new Hangar.
