Sound problem in FS9 with Win XP Pro

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

The sound works perfect in everything but when using ATC the controller or pilot’s voices can get about half way through their instructions and the voice goes into a very bad stutter.
The PC has been upgraded from Win 2000 Pro to Win XP Pro the ATC sound was working fine with the Win 2000 Pro.
The problem only started when it was upgraded to the XP Pro.
FS9 was completely uninstalled and reinstall that didn’t help so then the sound card was changed but the ATC controller and pilot’s voice still get the stutters.
HELP anyone got any suggestions on how to fix it

Happened to me years ago- think I just updated my soundcard driver to fix it and/or disabled/enabled hardware acceleration in my Control Panel > Sounds > Options menu.

Also, try googling 'fs2004 atc stuttering sound'.
