Hi all

Seems a silly question but will a ENGTS450 1GB pci-e card work on windows XP. My current card is an old Gforce 7600silent 512 PCi-e card.

Cheers

Rhys , It should work no problems at all as long as it a PCI-e card , you may want to measure and size in your current case but can't see it being a problem .

Another thought , if it works , you may have a customer for your old card , Adrian - AKA 'captainherc'

Thanks Ian
Yes, it is a pci-e card. I have a full tower case so size should not be a problem. Looking at building a new PC to go into my MD500e simulator I am building. Want to put the ENGTS 1gd DDR5 card into our home PC to get and idea about performance with FSX

Current system
Windows XP service pack 3
3 gig DDR2 ram
P4 3.4 dual core

Cheers

Check your power supply, although I dont think it should be a problem.

Sorry to say that with only an old P4 system, an upgrade to a GPU like a 450 isnt going to do alot for you. Your CPU will now be the major bottle neck.

Current mother board which as an asus P5QPL-AM can support Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad CPUs, At the moment the P4 dual aren't to bad and I'm getting about 12-20 fps with sliders up high. The 7600 is now 5 years of age so its due for an upgrade . I am going to build a better PC for my helicopter simulator but that will be some time off.
