Looking for technical advice for Autohotkey scripts [EDIT-SOLVED]

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Postby mfraser » Thu Aug 04, 2011 4:58 pm

Hi all..... I'm just wondering if anyone here has any experience running Autohotkey with FS9 or FSX?? I'm looking for some help writing scripts for my setup as my experiments thus far have been fruitless!! Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I'll have to fork out some $$$ for Key2Mouse........

Thanks,
Mat

Me old mate Ty the programmer!! Hows the new hangar treating everyone?? I was being nosey on radar just the other day and saw a 109 tooling about which caused a stir..... what's the gen from an operator?? MAKO - as in 'Make-Oh' or 'Mark-Oh'??? huh.gif

[EDIT] SOLVED!! It took awhile to troubleshoot - but like most things it was a simple solution. I just had to add "CoordMode, Mouse, Screen" within the header definition to ensure the screen resolution was referenced, rather than the individual monitor!!

The CLS B747 only allows its exits, airstairs and ground service vehicles to be controlled via its door gauge, rather than the standard FS or FSUIPC assignments. AutoHotKey allows me to flick one of three switches instead of using the mouse to deploy them now! I'd say the sim is about 98% complete - still a few things to tidy up here and there but its flyable and REALLY enjoyable!!

Thanks Ian........ its been a labour of love these past ten years to get it to this stage. Thankfully I seem to be spending more time actually flying it than tinkering and tweaking it!! winkyy.gif

Just a pointer Mat if you place your three monitors strait instead of offsetting the two side ones you will get a strait horizon instead of having it dropping off on each side.

Have you not tried programming the air stairs and such with the FSUICP L:Vars interface?

@ dbcunnz - I take your point Doug. I've put it on the 'To-Do' List - you can't see in the photo, but the desk I made to support everything has a hollow space in the middle just behind the panel that needs to be filled in. Once I do that I'll be able to bring the middle monitor forward and then line them all up properly.

@ Rotordude - I've never actually fully read (Or understood blink.gif ) the L:Var part of the FSUIPC docs, but now that I have it would seem a far better way to go than using AutoHotkey. It'll save me a few keystrokes and keep everything contained within FSUIPC itself - so thanks for the headsup!! thumbup1.gif I'll have a look at the door gauge and see if I can't grab the appropriate values and do some experimenting.

Rotordude!!!! notworthy.gif I can't thankyou enough for pointing me to the L:Var part of FSUIPC!!!! After a few hours reading, experimenting, swearing, re-reading and experimenting I have successfully managed to write a simple LUA script to control all the CLS B747 exits and ground equipment!!!! I'm now applying my new-found knowledge to do the same with the POSKY 777 series and to fix some issues I have with the CS C130 autopilot!!!!

Cheers dude - legendary suggestion!!! thumbup1.gif

New hangar rocks, apart from all the security and being on the other side of base. I dunno about the call sign. It looks more like a whitebait to me but then again i am now used to a big comfortable fly by wire chopper. I thought that someone had left the 109 in the rain and it had shrunk. We were thinking about Hippo for the 90 since it is such a big beast. It is a sweet machine tho. I am hanging out for it to get here now.

I'm looking forward to a wet weekend and might get the sim back online if i can't get outside.
