Hi there guys.
Happy new year to one and all.
I recently tried to install a new cockpit panel into FSX.The DC3 one with the alt hold and app mode etc,and I some how mucked it up.I then decided to uninstall then reinstall FSX to solve the problem(I think the panel was FS2004 only) but moving on.It wouldnt let me uninstall the game for starters,so I (perhaps to hastily)went into the FSX folder and selected it all and tried to delete it that way,but the recycle bin couldnt contain it all so I knew I was mucking things up big time.I used my 'Advanced care' package then to try and clean up some of the mess I had made and found that I could at least then uninstall the game. The problem is that after I reinstalled FSX and it had all seemed to go o.k (the installer screen shots came up etc etc)at the end when the little window said I was up to registering fonts etc this came up.:
Microsoft flight simulator error X
Error 1722:
There is a problem with this windows installer package.A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
When I clicked o.k it began 'rolling back the action'.(uninstalling it again I guess)
Then this came up:
Error1603:
Fatal error duing installation.
Consult Windows installer help(Msi.chm)or MSDN for more information.
Any help with this would be much appreciated.Im on holiday at the moment but I have another copy of FSX at home so if I tried to install that one maybe that would help.
I hope this is not to long winded.
Thanks in advance,Pete.
