FS9 Display Resolutions Glitch

Postby deecee3 » Fri Jan 20, 2017 7:12 pm

Under FS9 Display Resolutions i am showing 2 identical resolutions for 1280x720x32 plus a further 2 resolutions for 1280x720x16. I normally run FS9 at 1920x1080x32. Is there a simple way that i can remove these duplicate resolutions without a complete re-install please?

Once you save the default screen setting , 1920x1080x32 your choice it should stay exactly that, if you go to your systems 'Control Panel' - 'Display' you would be able to also set it as your PC default default screen setting and it should change.

Thanks Ian but my PC monitor display & FS9 Display Resolutions are set to 1920x1080 as the defaults & have always been that way. When i look into FS9 Display Resolutions i have these duplcate resolutions which i have never used. My question is, how do i get rid of them?

Possibly duplicate entries in the fs9.cfg...
Search on "Display" and remove or comment out (//) what you don't want.

Charl, that was my first thought, but when I checked my old Classic FS 9.1, I couldn't find a ref in any of the configs. It rang a little bell though - I am sure I have seen a tick box for "Hide all non-compatible screen reso's " or words to that effect. That would have come from a right-click in an empty part of the desktop, or maybe from the CCC control centre (I use Radeon cards). I think deecee3 is seeing a list of what his GPU can provide *if asked*. That list would be coming from the chip on the graphics card itself. What you see under [DISPLAY] in the config is what you have selected, and that is what you will get.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

My thanks to all of you with your suggestions. There is good news - for no apparent reason [no changes to any parts of the system] the duplicate resolutions have gone!

DC , pleased, I have been having some weird thing happening on the FS-PC here , it dose not surprise me, things just go 'BLIP" and later return to the norm.
