you guys are gonna hate me... i went with an ATI radeon 4670HD tongue.gif ALOt of other people said it would eat the 8600gt for breakfast so im booting up FSX as i type right now.

LOL - nice.

FWIW I've had both ATI and NVidia cards, and I can honestly say that it's Intel vs AMD all over again. Bigger bang for buck in the ATI, but the corporate giant (NVidia in the case of video cards) has this huge anti competitive propoganda machine going 24x7 trying to make people think that their product is better...

I run an 8600GT and it kills FSX. But then, so did my ATI 2600XT (which was a friggin AGP card!). The thing is, and I'd have thought that everyone would know this by now, FSX is NOT GPU bound, it's CPU bound. So above a certain level of GPU performance you just won't see much diifference between video cards running FSX.

Let me be the first to say it then ... TRAITOR! laugh.gif

Seriously though - I've had the odd misgiving about nVidia cards (haven't we all?) ... so I'd be pretty keen to hear your views. You get to hear a load of stuff all over the Internet about either/both ... but you'll be coming from the same place as us, as it were winkyy.gif

yea. i thought it might be good to hear alot of viewpoints before i decided. FSX does run WAY better. but still very laggy in RealNZ WGTN and Marlborough due to my pentium D. i can run AA in default areas though which is very very cool.

although slightly off topic... COD4 runs fricken awesomley now too biggrin.gif
